Our Mission
Instrumental Music is a comprehensive instrumental music program that provides students with opportunities to develop musical excellence, leadership, teamwork, and personal responsibility through performance and service. Students refine their instrumental technique, music literacy, and ensemble skills while performing a diverse repertoire that includes concert band literature, marching band productions, pep band performances, and ceremonial events. As members of the "Pride of the Upper Cumberland" Band, students proudly represent Smith County High School at football games, community events, festivals, and concert performances. Through a commitment to discipline, collaboration, and artistic achievement, the band program fosters confident musicians, responsible leaders, and lifelong advocates for music and the arts.

Welcome to the official SCHS Band page! On behalf of our entire band family, I'm excited to welcome our students, parents, alumni, and community members. This page is where we'll share our performances, achievements, upcoming events, and the incredible moments that make our program special. Over the past three years, our band has proudly earned multiple championship titles, a testament to the hard work, dedication, and talent of our students and staff. As we continue to build on that success, we're always looking for new members to join our family. Whether you're interested in playing an instrument, joining our dance team, becoming a majorette, or performing with our color guard, there's a place for you in the SCHS Band. We also invite our community to follow our journey, attend our performances, volunteer, and support our students as we strive for even greater accomplishments. Together, we can continue to build a tradition of excellence, inspire future generations, and make our school and community proud.
